Before you launch an AI feature
Not a technical checklist. A founder's one. If you cannot answer all twelve out loud, the launch is early.
What is on it
- You can say, in one sentence, what it must never do
- That sentence is enforced in code, not in the prompt
- There is a cap on what a single user can spend in an hour
- There is a cap on what everyone can spend in a day
- Somebody's name is on it when it goes wrong at 2am
- You have seen it fail and know what the customer sees
- Every AI call is logged, with enough detail to explain one
- One user cannot read another user's anything
- You know which data leaves your company and to whom
- You have a way to turn it off without a deploy
- Support knows it exists and knows what to say about it
- You have written down how you will tell it is working
