Questions to ask an AI vendor
Take this into the call. The questions are ordered so the uncomfortable ones arrive after they have already told you how good everything is.
What is on it
- Which model is under this, and what happens when it changes?
- Does our data train your model? Show me that in writing.
- What is your uptime, and what happens when the provider is down?
- How much can we spend in a bad month, and what caps that?
- Who can see our data inside your company, and how many people is that?
- What happens to our data the day we leave?
- How do you stop one customer's input reaching another's output?
- What does this do when it does not know the answer?
- Can we see the full prompt you send on our behalf?
- How many customers our size are in production, not pilot?
- What is your plan if we need this to run in our own cloud?
- What have you not built yet that we will ask for in six months?
